Lunch with Danny Choo
Getting a bit behind on my day-day posts, they’ll be up again soon.
Had the pleasure of lunch with Danny today down at a small, out of the way, but delicious Korean place a few stops down the Meguro Line in Tokyo. First time I had Korean food, and if I can find other places - it will not be the last. Spicy dishes rock.
Danny is awesome company, and big thanks for an enjoyable lunch goes out to him. Gift exchange was had, he got my squishy-eyes Meido and one of the gift bottles of pure, biological maple syrup (from my friend’s family’s sugary), and as for what I got… well…
… that’s a secret until later. ( n_n)/
We spoke much about technology, ourselves, Dannychoo.com and its future, about Elastic Computing Clouds, figures and otaku-ism as can be guessed. Talking tech with Danny is quite an experience - he has insight and has touched things that would make most technophiles bleed from the nose.Â
Parting is such sweet sorrow, and it was short. However short, equally awesome.
Now, this evening it’s dinner with Kikuta san.

Never had Korean food as far as I can recall. Glad you got to meet up with Danny ^^ Wonder what’s in the bag. Sounds like you just experienced an earthquake from your twitter?
Im glad you were able to meet up with our idol Danny
I must admit that im quite jealous ^_^
Im looking forward to your gift! It better be awesome since you lost your suishy meido
I am in awe!:P… You lucky guy, now, did you fulfill my wish for you from Danny by chance?
I am so going to Japan someday, now I must go…
Aww, you lost squishy meido… well, it went to a person who I know will take care of her…:D
You know that you re lucky to meet all those awesome people right?^^
I wonder what I would be able to talk about with Danny?
I’m looking forward to the figure reviews xD
What’s in the box!!!?
But, man chowing down with Danny must have been good times.
The only Korean food I’ve had was when we visited Korea for like 5 days, but I was still in junior high at that time. Other than that it’s just Korean BBQ, which is awesome, but I don’t know seems pretty mild on the how ethnic is it compared with “traditional” American food scale, so I guess I really haven’t had Korean food.
I like the Korean hot pots. They are always
delicious. There is one in the city where
i drop by from time to time.
Anyone is considered lucky whenever they
get the chance to meet up with Danny.
Ur one of them now.
“You have met Danny Choo! Level up!”
Mhmm Maple Syrup … I only use the real stuff now, I can’t stand the artificial syrups anymore. Coz once you try real stuff, you never go back.
Oh and that box in that bag looks like a gathering box that E2046 uses. Maybe it’s that Wai Fung s.a.f. that Danny got awhile back? or maybe he just recycled the box or something. Do we win a prize if we guess whats in it? xD and wasn’t that meido Izumi Sawatari?
Yeah also what a trip to Japan eh? meeting famous people from various industries and somehow even getting on japanese TV for a brief period of time. Your probably wanting to return the the land of the rising sun since your first visit was so nice.
@ Eddie :
Pin Pon!
You guessed right. It is indeed Gathering - Wai fun. hand painted and Danny never even fully unpacked it for display. It still smells o’ fresh paint D:
There still antoher figure well hidden, but there’s not any visibility of it in the bag XD
I just got back frmo akiba now, got so much stuf orz
Wow… I’m sure that was an enlightening experience. I’d probably be ashamed to go out for lunch with Danny, as I am the exact opposite of him in terms of motivation. I’m such a lazy ass -_-” I love Korean food though. What did you have? Kam Ja Tang?
@ Cruxay :
Don’t be so bashful, chances are you’d be far more interesting company than I was. I sway from energetic to strangely … quiet-tsun at times when I get shy so I kind of probably was droll to talk with.
I really don’t know what it was called, but it was a spicy soup with tofu served with rice on the side. I think it was called ‘Goddamn Delicious’.

OMG!!!!!!
I’m angry!!!!!
Meeting Danny is something I want to do!!!!!
I see the mascot of GSC!!!!!! Nice!!!!!
Korean food is actually pretty cool!!! Here in Toronto, Korean BBQ is common…It’s pretty cool BBQing your meats!!!!
Still, Stare at you with angry eye!!!!!
