WHF no more, as well?
Two big losses in two days, this is more obscure in the bad news department, however.
WFH (World Hobby Festival) is a convention in which figurine and model creators of both corporate and indep production types come to show off what is unique, what is new and what is propose for up and coming figure models. In particular, you can go around and snap up pre-mass produced items for … well understandably breakneck prices but some of them are so beautifully done that I’d probably throw down cash for them ANYWAY.
May the 5th will be the final WHF presentation as the convention will be closing its doors after this point. It’s a damn shame, because as I look through the snapshots that have been posted from the current WHF front runners I can’t stand to think that some of these talented figure and model creators are running the chance at missing out opportunities at getting their models and skills recognized. It’s a sad day for figure hobbyists, a sad day indeed, especially since they don’t mention why they are shutting down the convention at all, and it’s not like they don’t have ample attendance. It’s a strange few weeks in Japan for otakukind.

Len-Vesper I’m with you on that one. Figures are big part of my otaku hobbies and the fact that a festival has closed down and I wasn’t even able to attend…
I can only hope that demand will be high enough for someone else to come around and create a new figure festa, then perhaps things will upswing again. Then maybe I can attend. And hey, maybe you too!

Even though I’m new to the figure collecting scene, this news disappoints me. It would have been cool to take a trip to Japan and catch one of these cons.
